(…) Nohl’s team is probing the security of mobile phone networks.
Sharyn Alfonsi: Is one phone more secure than another? Is an iPhone more secure than an Android?
Karsten Nohl: All phones are the same.
Sharyn Alfonsi: If you just have somebody’s phone number, what could you do?
Karsten Nohl: Track their whereabouts, know where they go for work, which other people they meet when– You can spy on whom they call and what they say over the phone. And you can read their text messages (…)

A Powerful Message About Stereotypes | Baba Recommends – BabaMail

– video 2:00

This must be one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen. While it may be an advert, it cleverly portrays stereotypes within the family – stereotypes that hurt us all and pass down from one generation to the next.

This video captures a father’s confession. He states that he has set a dangerous precedent for his daughter whereby wives should be solely responsible for maintaining the family household. Feeling deeply remorseful for what he’s done, he makes a vow to his daughter.

Share this video with your friends and family, passing on a strong message, encouraging more balance in today’s family dynamic, encouraging each family member to #ShareTheLoad.

Camper Takes Video Of An Alaskan Brown Bear Stopping To Sit And Admire The View … Right Next To Him [VIDEO] 1:25

Take a minute to watch this video. I assumed the camera was on a tripod (because I don’t read!) but no… And the last moments will amaze you. -Keith —–>

Sometimes they say you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you, but every so often, the bear may just have a little sit down with you instead.
Drew Hamilton, a then-employee of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, was filming at the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary and Refuge, when he caught a once-in-a-lifetime moment. He was watching other bears fish in the river below when a huge Alaskan brown bear walks up and sits down right next to him. He managed to capture this incredible footage on a very close encounter, before the bear eventually walks away again.

McNeil River State Game Sanctuary and Refuge is the home of the world’s highest concentration of wild brown bears thanks to the area’s abundant salmon population. According to their website, at least 144 individual bears can be spotted on the river over the course of the summer and up to 74 bears have been spotted in a single encounter. In order to protect humans and the bears, visitors receive permits to access the viewing area via a lottery system.

Construction has begun on the City’s “N” Street Cycle Track. The project includes the installation of a new two-way bikeway on the south side of “N” Street from Pinnacle Bank Arena Drive to 23rd Street. The project is scheduled to be completed soon.

Work will begin on the blocks between Canopy and 10th streets. Lane closures will primarily impact the south lanes of “N” Street and the intersection of 8th and “N” streets. As work is completed, construction will progress toward the east. Vehicle traffic lanes will reopen as the bike lanes are completed, but the protected bikeway will not be available until the entire project is completed.

The project is funded with both public and private sources, including a donation of $340,000 from the Great Plains Trails Network.

Rapid program growth for Nebraska libraries

www.netnebraska.orgThe Pew Research Center surveyed Americans this year about what they want to see in their public libraries. One theme that surfaced over and over again: — people want libraries to provide more, and varied services and programs for the communities they serve. As part of the NET News special reporting project, “Nebraska Libraries: The Next Chapter,” we look at how our state’s libraries are becoming more than warehouses for books.
